Here’s a Quick Step-By-Step Beginners Guide to Using Midjourney:
- Begin by joining Midjourney by going to https://www.midjourney.com
- Once on the Midjourney homepage, click on “Join the Beta” in the lower right corner. This will allow you to use the Discord app that we talked about earlier either as a separate app or as a web page – either way is fine depending on your comfort zone.
- You will next be asked for some basic information which you can go ahead and fill in. Midjourney just wants to know who to call you and to make sure that you are human.
- Once you are in Discord, scroll down the left hand column to the #newbies channel.
- Then simply type in /imagine, to the Midjourney prompt field followed by what you would like to create and the AI does the rest. For example, to generate an image, of a futuristic city, type a text prompt like “/imagine a futuristic city.
- Midjourney will quickly generate 4 image variations based on your prompt.
- You can continue iterating variations by clicking the reload button, select one or more that you would like Midjourney to improve upon, or even have Midjourney create additional variations of any of the 4 images by selecting the corresponding buttons.
- When you have an image you love, right click save to save it to your device.
Of course, as you become more experienced there is a lot more you can do, but the steps listed above will be enough to get you started.
